It looks as though Paula Abdul’s latest relationship couldn’t survive her two-year curse. Abdul was married to Emilio Estevez for two years and that ended in 1994 and she was also married to Brad Beckerman for two years. That marriage ended in 1998. Last summer she hooked up with J.T. Torregiani and they were very serious about each other right from the get-go. Or it seemed that way anyway when they moved in together shortly after they began dating. Now, after less than a year together, the two are calling it quits. From New Chatter,
“Friends of the ‘American Idol’ judge claim she has separated from restaurateur JT Torregiani, after less than a year together.
However, JT is not upset about the break-up because he wasn’t committed to Paula. A source stated: “He wasn’t that serious about it and hadn’t invested too much in the relationship.”
Paula, 45, sparked rumors her romance might be on the rocks when she failed to show at the opening of JT’s new restaurant Beso, which he has launched with ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Eva Longoria, in March. At the bash, JT was spotted flirting with female guests.
Paula recently spoke about her desire to settle down and begin a family. She stated: “I do want kids. I’ll probably adopt because I think it’ll be in the next three to five years. I wouldn’t necessarily adopt from abroad like some celebs. I just want a healthy baby.”
Okay let’s step back and address a few issues with this. Who cares how J.T. is feeling? Obviously, he was somewhat invested since he lived with the woman for God’s sake and I don’t even think anyone is too concerned about Paula seeing as how they broke up in April and it has taken this long to get to most front pages. I think she just needs to take some time to herself. I mean, there was only a two-year break from her first marriage to her second and now she’s moving in with people shortly after starting to date them. Paula is definitely trying for the fast track to that happy life she wants but I think she needs to slow down a bit as that option does not seem to be working for her. However, I must state that I’m glad that some celebrities do notice the needs of children in America and are happy to look into adopting them.

Clive Davis’s annual pre-Grammy celebration is one of the hottest parties of the year for music, with stars coveting invites almost as much as those giant golden record players. Whitney Houston’s appearance was a highlight of the evening, with everyone speculating she would perform something from her upcoming comeback album, although it never happened. She did, however have this astonishing mullet-inspired hair that would give Billy Ray a run for his money. It reminds me of a coon-skin cap, only it’s her hair and not an animal.
Carrie Underwood arrived with Chace Crawford, who were rumored to be together while Chace was busy kissing other ladies. Janet Jackson was there, with her scary abs covered up, thank God. Fashion disasters of the night include Lindsay Lohan’s bag/toga ensemble, and surprisingly Rihanna, who wore some sort of long-sleeved Native American-ish frock.
The night’s performers included Chris Daughtry, who literally stated on stage, “I was here last year, and I had to sit in the audience, and it sucks watching everyone else perform.” Is that supposed to make him look grateful? Also featured on stage were Leona Lewis, Akon, Wyclef Jean, Andrea Bocelli, Slash, Chad Kroeger, Fantasia, and Josh Groban in the world’s most random line-up ever.

There is nothing more fitting for a woman who’s currently battling chronic neck and back pain to release a single entitled, “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow.” At the tender age of forty-five, Paula Abdul has made public her first single in over ten years. Produced by fellow “American Idol” judge, Randy Jackson, the song will be featured on his upcoming album, Randy Jackson’s Music Club, Vol. 1.
The duo went on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show to promote the release of the upbeat, 80s-inspired dance track that even though is bouncy and fun, does sound like some serious digital cleaning up over her voice took place. It definitely sounds like vintage Paula, but with Paula barely able to speak without slurring these days, I am really doubtful she was able to sing this whole song in one session without being interrupted by strange giggling fits and needing a nap.
Listen to “Dance Like There is No Tomorrow” here.

Paula Abdul has made a career out of wearing many hats–”American Idol” judge, clothing and accessory designer, celebrity train-wreck extraordinaire–but now she is looking to make her comeback as a pop star by performing at the Super Bowl. Word has it that the whole thing is set to be a delicious hot mess, with an inside source leaking to TMZ that Paula plans on performing her new single and that it’s a “bad, bad idea.”
Reportedly, her voice is not up to par, so it’s had to be digitally “enhanced” and God only knows what dance moves she has in store, since the poor thing can barely hold her head up these days. I’m hoping that she has the ability to incorporate her dance “the butt-walk” that she invented at QVC into her performance, which should also include some choreographed bursts into tears.
