After having announced their pregnancy in late January, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have found out that they’re having a boy! That’s very exciting news and it will be cute to see tiny Harlow with her new baby brother. Of course, a part of me is always a tiny bitter when things seem to always work out just so perfectly for celebrities (such as having one girl and one boy, the supposed ‘perfect combo’) but that’s just the ever-present cynical side of me. The couple, who already the proud parents of the lovely Harlow Winter, are eagerly awaiting the arrival of a baby boy in August, a tipster reveals in the new issue of In Touch Weekly. Spywitnesses claim Nicole and Joel refer to the baby as “he” and have been stocking up on plushies and other high-priced infant items adorned in blue.
“Joel bought water-based paint for the nursery and — surprise, surprise — it’s blue.”
So it hasn’t actually been confirmed by the couple yet but there’s really no reason for anyone to lie here. But in the end, as long as the baby is happy and healthy, right? Congratulations to Joel and Nicole!

It’s no secret that the magic and passion that made Jack and Rose so perfect in Titanic, and the same kind of magic and passion (albeit less obvious) that Frank and Alice Wheeler had in Revolutionary Road was all due to the special kind of love shared between the actors that played these roles, Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. Kate and Leo have often talked endlessly about how extremely fond they’re of each other and they seem to have the only kind of love that lasts in Hollywood - the love of true friendship. The two have often talked about how they grew up in Hollywood together and have always been there for each other and Leo has even walked alongside Kate on the red carpet in the absence of Kate’s husband, Sam Mende (who, btw, also directed Revolutionary Road.)
But even with all of the flattery and support, this friendship seems to have been taken to another level - Leo has given Kate a ring and it’s engraved and all! Is this weird? From ET On the web,

“Yes, [Leo’s ring] is engraved on the inside,” she describes the gift to the publication, “but I’m not going to tell you what it states.”
Now given that Sam seems to be absolutely on-board with this whole super-close friendship and that everyone, especially Kate and Leo, are always joking about how tight they are, I don’t think the fact that he gave her a ring is weird, engraved or not. BUT. It completely depends on which finger she’s wearing it. If she’s actually wearing it on the same finger as her wedding bands, that’s weird. If not, I really don’t see it as being any different than if a girlfriend had given her a ring. Man, I want to know what that engraving states!

Well it seems that we’ve taken the low road with the whole Jon and Kate Gosselin scandal. When it was revealed weeks ago that Jon was caught having an affair with Deanna Hummel, he chose to deny it and hope that it all went away. Now that it hasn’t, he has turned the blame back on Kate, saying that she was actually the first to step out on the marriage. I have a general rule where I’m suspicious of cheaters so at first I was inclined not to believe this story and the fact that it comes from an anonymous source doesn’t help. But I don’t know. The relationship sounds much friendlier than just client/bodyguard and does seem to suggest that Kate might have found her happiness elsewhere. A long time ago, might I add. From US,

Maybe at this particular event where Kate was showing more affection to someone that was on her payroll than she was to her husband, it was just a bad day for the two. It’s not unusual for people to overcompensate with people they’re not angry with when someone they’re pissed at is in the same room. It’s petty and stupid but that’s Kate after all. And she does always treat Jon like trash, there’s also no denying that. However if this is true, it shows that the marriage was in trouble long before Jon ever made eyes towards Deanna. Not that Kate’s cheating gives Jon the right to nor does Kate treating Jon like trash. If he doesn’t care about it, he should have left and that’s that.
But it seems now that things have gone too far and Jon and Kate just won’t be able to see it through this one. And when both people have already quit and walked out mentally, there’s really no going back. So…I wonder what this means for the show. Will there still be a show? Will it be Kate Plus Eight one week and then Jon Plus Eight the other? Who knows but this couple has larger problems right now than their television show. Most importantly, what’s going to happen to those 8 kids who have already had nothing close to a normal life and now have to live through their parents’ marriage problems? Who could have foreseen that something that was once such an ‘opportunity’ has now become their downfall? It’s really very sad.

I think all fans of the show Jon and Kate Plus Eight immediately wondered what would happen to the show when the news first broke of Jon’s affair with a 23-year-old woman. I’d like to point out as an interesting side note that it was being called a ‘rumored affair’ not two weeks ago and now it’s pretty much being accepted as fact that it happened, although denial is still coming from all around. But back to the point.
It seems that Jon’s stepping out has caused trouble in more than his marriage as producers of the show are wondering how to work the marriage problems into the show. One of their problems seems to be that Kate doesn’t want to talk directly about the affair and another problem is that the premiere is set to air in just two weeks. “The fifth season premiere of TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8 is running late.
According to the Los Angeles Times, producers are trying to incorporate the couple’s martial woes into the show, just two weeks before its Might 25 air date.
Kate stated they had no plans to address the affair on the show but would speak about the strains on their marriage.
Marc Berman, senior TV editor at Mediaweek, tells Usmagazine.com all the scandal could “a problem for the show. Suddenly, the focus of the show is not on the kids — it’s on them.”
“This is a TLC show that attracts a lot of young kids, teens. This isn’t Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” he states. “What are they going to call the show - Kate Plus 8 Minus Jon?”
The bottom line, says Berman: The couple need to be “true to the audience” and explain what exactly is going on or fans “could feel alienated.”
Like Nick Lachey and ex-wife Jessica Simpson (sources told Us they earned up to $100,000 per show in later episodes of their MTV show), Jon and Kate “became victims of their own success,” Berman says.
A TV agent who deals primarily with reality shows estimates that the two probably earn between $50,000-$75,000 an episode.
“They began making money,” Berman says of Jon and Kate. “Suddenly, they’re not who they are anymore. They’re this Hollywood couple. You get all this money and ultimately it kind of changes who you are.”
I absolutely concur that the fame and money changed who they are. I didn’t watch the show from the beginning but I did watch it in the early years and as the family all got older, I had to stop watching it. Kate really did become psychotic and Jon just never really seemed to be willing to go that extra step, when a few extra steps are actually necessary when you’ve 8 kids. The show also became less about raising their kids to be good people and how they did it with 10 people living under the same roof, and became more about all the awesome stuff they got to do because they’re so rich now.
My last thought with all the many that are running around my head about all of this is that I really think the focus right now should be on the marriage - both for the marriage and for the show. You can’t have a happy family with an unhappy foundation, as corny as it sounds and while I can comprehend why Kate would want to go into her shell and do what she knows how to do ideal, being a mom, I think it’s important that she focuses more now on being a wife. Unless she doesn’t want to save her marriage, in which case I also don’t blame her. But you can’t just act as though it didn’t happen. And you certainly can’t talk about your ‘marital woes’ without directly talking about the affair when that’s obviously a large part of it. Yep, I’m pretty sure these people have no idea what they’re doing.

Ok so now we’re hearing pregnancy rumors about…Lindsay Lohan? Huh? How does that happen? Didn’t she just break up with her lesbian lover not all that long ago and has been seen sneaking in and out of Samantha Ronson’s house? Apparently, either all of those paparazzi shots of Lindsay sneaking around Sam’s place were either taken when Sam didn’t know Lindsay was there, the two have really just remained friends, or Lindsay’s trying to get back with Sam yet wants to have her cake and eat it too. It’s no secret that Lindsay has had somewhat of a struggle with her own sexual identity. The Mean Girls star has alledgly slept with a number of men following her split from girlfriend Samantha Ronson, and apparently doesn’t know who the child’s father is.

It’s also no secret that Lindsay likes to sleep around, whatever sex they might be. But I’m still having trouble believing this. Maybe I’m in denial but I really can’t see this as being true. Whoever this ’source’ is, it doesn’t even really sound as though they’re sure Lindsay’s pregnant. I do think that even if Lindsay was pregnant, she probably wouldn’t keep it. My God, can you envision that drama? And there’s just something about Lilo that doesn’t scream, “I WANT BABIES!!” to me.
